I also provide individual therapy to parents, adults and teens seeking support for anxiety, attachment concerns, depression, grief and trauma.
Professional Approach: I come from a person-centered and attachment lens and recognize the importance of connecting the mind and body to one’s experience. I enjoy integrating various modalities including play therapy techniques, art therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) with clients.
Training: I am currently a Play Therapy Intern, which means I have completed all the required training hours through the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT). I am in the process of becoming a Certified Play Therapist. I am also EMDR trained through an approved EMDRIA™ provider. I am also certified in Safe and Sound Protocol.
A bit about me: I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. I have four children, who are now teenagers and young adults. Before I had children, I was a Legal Assistant and worked in litigation. Through raising my own children, and my experience working with families over the past decade as an In-Home Family Support Worker and Youth and Family Specialist, I have been honoured to work with adults, youth, and children of all abilities. I resonate and advocate for parents raising children with additional needs. I have enjoyed watching families learn how to connect and communicate with each other and assist them in obtaining the resources they need to succeed. When I am not working, I tend to be at home with my family. Since my husband and I are in the phase of raising teenagers and young adults, we decided to adopt a few puppies a couple of years ago and they keep us all busy!
