Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are your services covered by Insurance

As a registered Psychologist in Alberta, most insurance companies provide coverage for services.

Assessments may be covered for a portion of the fee.

We always recommend that you check your coverage with your insurance provider.

  • How do I pay?

Aspen psychology direct bills to most insurance companies with the exception of Sunlife.

If you do not have insurance, we accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payments through our encrypted CRM program Jane.

We also accept e-transfer payments on a case by case basis.

  • Do you offer Virtual Sessions?

Yes, both of our psychologists offer virtual sessions. However, some session may require in person only visits.

  • Do you offer a sliding scale?

Each of our psychologists offer a different rate based on their skill levels and training. Please see our fees page for more information

  • What can I expect for my first visit?

For a first visit, you will meet with your psychologist and discuss concerns and goals.

For minors, the first session is always a parent/caregiver session. This session is designed for parents/caregivers to meet with the psychologist and discuss concerns, background and goals. For this session we do ask that minors not be present to allow for open discussion.

  • How many sessions do I need?

Everyone is different and everyone's needs are different. The amount of sessions you will need will be a conversation between yourself and your psychologist.

  • Discover Call/ Consultations

When booking in for Psychedelic assisted therapy, and assessment or supervision with Aspen, everyone must complete a 15 minute phone consultation/Discovery call.

There is no fee for the 15 minute call.
